My heart is literally bursting with joy…I’m writing this post with tears coming down my face since I’m just SO thankful that we have been blessed with this miracle. We realize that it’s not always easy to conceive and what a gift this is.

I must admit: At first my husband and I thought we were having a girl since this pregnancy has been so rough compared to my pregnancy with Kingston. I’ve had extreme nausea and fatigue. I was pretty much sick my entire first trimester.

Around 11 weeks my husband and I decided to do a DNA test at the doctors office. It’s a blood test which is mainly done to check and see that your baby is healthy; finding out the gender was pretty much an added bonus! I found out the gender a week later via a phone call from the doctors office while my husband was on a business trip to the UK. During our phone call the doctor told me was that our baby is healthy (which is such great news in itself!) and then he added: “Congratulations, you are having another boy!” At first, I was perplexed, not really understanding what he just said. I thought: “Another boy”? Really?” After I hung up I recalled the announcement over and over again: “You’re having another boy, congratulations!”

Without even realizing I started to cry, I came back to my senses when I heard Kingston next to me saying: “Mommy, mommy, you OK?!” I hugged him, and I said: “Yes, Kingston, mommy is OK! I’m just really happy…because guess what?! You’re having a little baby brother!” My son’s reaction was literally the best! Kingston started jumping (we were sitting on the coach) and screaming: “Yay, I’m having a little brother!” He hugged and kissed me which made me cry even more…

But now it was time to call daddy. His reaction was similar to mine—he was quite in awe, and it even took him a few minutes to realize that we have indeed been blessed with another healthy, baby boy!

On this note I want to give my husband, Jeffrey a big shout out! He took these amazing pictures which I will treasure forever! He’s such an amazing photographer, husband and father. Without him I would be lost—he’s my soulmate.

And last but not least, words cannot describe how THANKFUL we are to experience this miracle again, and how blessed we are by all of your love and support! Both me and my husband read your comments—they really mean so much to us! We realize that it’s not always easy to conceive and what a gift this is, and we are truly grateful to share our journey with you!

    Oh wow Vanessa that is such wonderful news and how exciting for Kingston!! It’s so precious that he was looking forward to a baby boy and it worked out the way for him! I have to say I think having two of the same gender is awesome just because they will more than likely have similar interests. I know I was over joyed to have another girl the second time around for my daughter and now that they are older I see how they are besties, love many of the same “girly” things and it’s the best feeling to see them together! Of course health is the most important & happy to hear all is good with your little bundle! I’m telling you, after staring at countless baby bumps for a couple of years, I can generally tell just by looking at the bump and seeing how large it is and how it’s shaped earlier in the pregnancy.
