You’re such an inspiration, Vanessa! I can completely relate to you, I literally work 24/7 between my PR firm and my blog and it’s definitely hard work but it is so rewarding! Kuddos to you for making it full- time! I so agree with all of your advice and appreciate you sharing your wisdom. On another note, I adore this bright yellow OTS top on you… so cute!

Dear Lifehacker, I’m thinking about starting my own blog. I don’t expect it to make me stinking rich, but what are the chances I can quit my day job and make a living just by blogging? I see all these success stories, but how much money can I really make?

  12. July 1, 2016 / 9:05 AM

These are some great tips, Vanessa! I agree — creating a niche and staying genuine would be on my list too. And I can totally relate to working 24/7, it’s definitely not easy blogging with a full-time job! On another note, love this off the shoulder number! Such pretty and bright colors for summer. Hope you have a wonderful Fourth of July!

Oh, a place where you had your first date with your husband, that’s so sweet! I loved your outfit, dear V., loved the top with the vibrant print! I liked that you could quit your corporate job, it was really such a heavy routine, balancing it with blogging! I agree with you on every aspect – I like high-low as well and I agree that we should support each other. My tip is to distance ourselves from people who do compare themselves to others, in a way to undermine the other – it did happen to me, through a blogger that I now got a very good distance from. These people only add negative vibes to us, and who wants that? So let’s be positive and keep on supporting each other! You are amazing, dear V., beautiful and with a great heart! Hugs and regards!

These are great tips Vanessa, for the past days I have been stressing out about the blog because I wish it went better although it is growing a lot. Relaxing of your stats is the best advice and also connecting. I LOVE your outfit girl, you look so stunning as always! Ps: I love how you took the pictures at the place where you had your first date!

    Have a wonderful day, xx

You are such an inspiration, Vanessa! I have been blogging on and off from 3 years now. But this year I decided to take it seriously and work my butt off on it. It has been paying off. I would love to one day become a full-time blogger/YouTube vlogger! And I absolutely agree with you about helping each other out and being genuine! I hope you have a wonderful weekend, beautiful!

You’re a huge inspiration to me, and I admire you for working so hard to get your blog to where it is now. I don’t think I’ll ever be a full-time blogger, but I loved your tips and I think that they are applicable to anyone looking to grow their platform! I especially find that networking is so important, and I’ve not only grown my blog from that, but I’ve met great friends like you.

Wow, this is such an inspiring and real post, Vanessa. I truly appreciate you being so open and genuine about this topic because it’s one that many bloggers do shy away from and I can understand why, people aren’t always receptive of the idea and it places you in a more vulnerable spot. For THAT reason, I commend you and truly admire you because I know you’ve encouraged many bloggers, including myself, to keep going and remain persistent in the hard work we’re all doing. You are such a gem and deserve every bit of success and opportunity that comes your way! I love your tops and that Chanel, btw! I hope you have an amazing holiday weekend and thanks again for sharing, my beautiful friend!

Awesome tips, V! And I love Buckingham Fountain… when I went to school at Roosevelt (right across the street!), I had some classes that faced east and I could see the fountain from the window. Not so great for classroom daydreams!
