How to Wear a Maxi Skirt in Winter

How to Wear a Maxi Skirt in Winter

Just because winter is in its full swing doesn’t mean your wardrobe has to suffer. Between duck boots and puffy parkas (which are totally necessary in Chicago!), it can often be challenging to stay chic while keeping warm—especially when you’re 7 months pregnant too! One of my favorite winter pieces is the maxi skirt, which can be worn with statement coats/scarfs and fun booties, alike.

Underneath my maxi skirt I opted for some cozy wool tights to keep me extra warm this season.

The maxi skirt is super roomy and forgiving which helps a lot when it comes to dressing my bump as well. Lately I’ve had a hard time dressing my ever-so-growing baby bump. Nothing fits the way it used to anymore which can be frustrating at times. I often daydream of the day I can easily slip into my favorite jeans and wear a belt around my waist again. But I’m almost there…Just a few more months to go. It’s a crazy thought and yet it’s so exciting! We finally started on Baby J’s nursery, too—I cannot wait to share it with you once we’ve made further progress. Stay tuned!

This skirt is absolutely gorgeous on you, Vanessa! I love the vibrant yellow and it looks so good paired with that beige jacket and the rich camel tote! To be honest, I don’t believe I’ve worn a maxi skirt during the winter before and I don’t know why really! You’ve definitely inspired me and I’ll be sure to layer up with comy tights underneath. Thanks so much for sharing, my beautiful friend! I can’t wait to see the nursery, I’m sure it’s coming along beautifully!

Love the outfit V, you make me hopeful for Spring! Winter styling doesn’t have to always be chunky knits and scarves and you inspired me to step away from the comfort clothes! Thanks for sharing & can’t wait to see Baby J’s nursery!
