Mother’s Day

Mother’s Day is a week away, and I decided to share some of my thoughts on motherhood with you all today! For and foremost, I am a mother to a beautiful 4 year old boy, named Kingston. When I’m with him nothing else matters. Continue reading, how motherhood has changed my life, and how I do it all being a full-time publisher, a wife and mother….

Motherhood not only changed me but it made me as well. I never knew the extremes of joy and pain childbirth. I never knew a love like this existed — so conditional and pure. I never knew that my son would teach me about real life, getting me excited about the simplest of things. My child is a great reminder that it’s important to simply stop and smell the roses from time to time. Seeing Kingston getting excited about our tulips growing in our backyard is heart-warming, and it’s such a great lesson that life is indeed full of wonder and beauty.

It is such an honor to nurture him and show Kingston the way to live his life; and what a miracle he is! He is the proof that God really does exist, I mean, for who could create something so ingenious and exquisite but the hand of God?

On a different note, you have probably noticed that I haven’t shared many images of my son on social media. It’s not that I’m against it  — it’s just a personal preference. Kingston is only 4 years old, simply too young for the world wide web. I decided to do this, I signed up for this but my son did not, in fact, he doesn’t even know what it means, luckily. He does however know that “mommy blogs” and that we need to take pictures quite often. ๐Ÿ™‚

Are you a mother?! If so, how did motherhood change you?! Or are you planning on becoming a mother?! Either way, I would love to hear you!

As always, thanks much for reading & have a wonderful Wednesday!

PS: Be sure to come back Friday for an exciting event coverage post with VOGUE Magazine.

Much love.

So much truth to what you write, dearest heard. Motherhood is a process of teaching and being taughtโ€ฆ Of daily lessons in patience and joy and learning that your heart can continue to grow and grow even when it feels as full of love as it can hold. I love your words and your sweet boy. I agree that the decision to post photos of your child is a difficult one– it feels like your feed should be full of these photos because he is such a huge part of your life, but on the other hand, only you truly signed up for this. I think you’re balancing everything perfectlyโ€ฆ And I am blessed to have a community of mothers like you to learn from and grow. Happy day love #LYM

What great pictures of you and Kingston! Children are God’s way of saying life will go on….I loved being a mother to toddlers and so enjoy them as adults now. Enjoy and savor every precious moments as time goes by much too fast. I feel privileged that God entrusted these two miracles to my care. My children are both well rounded adults and I am proud of both of them. My daughter will be graduating college in 2 short weeks…many days I wish I could go back in time and have them little again…..Thank you for sharing your son with us! <3 <3

Hi Vanessa, what a super adorable handsome little man Kingston is!! These pictures of you and him are simply beautiful, you need to frame these for sure! Motherhood is completely life changing and my girls are by far the greatest joy & blessing in my life. I am on the same page as you when it comes to sharing pics of them on social media it is not my preference and not something I’ll be doing at this point as they are also too young. I’m actually going to share a pic of them for the first time on my blog though this Friday too as my hubby caught a cute moment of us. You are such a vision in this ultra chic all white look!! Hope you are having an amazing day my friend! xoxo

LOVE this look! Can’t go wrong with all white! Motherhood made me as well. I always knew I was destined to be a mom and I am obsessed with it every single day! But now I just worry all the time and feel pain, sadness, and anger when my son does. It’s bizarre but worth it ten fold!

I love this! Thank you for sharing pictures of your adorable boy. Your love and support regarding my pregnancy was so sweet and even though I’ve only been a mommy 3 months, it’s changed my entire world. My baby is my heart walking outside my body and I never know I could love anything so much.

Hope you have a wonderful mothers day with your son!

You look GORGEOUS, my dear friend, WOW! I love the all white two piece set, you look SO chic! I also love that lip color on you and you know how much I love those sunnies, too! You are such a wonderful mother for always prioritizing Kingston and ensuring that he’s always happy and protected. He looks so incredibly happy in these photos and I can see the overwhelming love and joy you have for him and his happiness in these pics as well! Thanks so much for sharing not only this beautiful look with us, but what it means to be a mother to you! I don’t have children of my own just yet, however, I am a step-mom so I have somewhat of an idea; it’s no easy task, but a rewarding one indeed! I hope you have the most amazing day, my beautiful friend, sending LOTS of love and a huge hug your way!

Beautiful post! I LOVE the photos of you and Kingston!

And, yes, I’ve been a mother for almost 25 years, and being a mom to my two boys is definitely the best thing in my life. They have taught me so much, challenged me, surprised me, scared me, exhausted me, and, most importantly, shown me a love that I didn’t know existed.

What a beautiful post, babe, and I don’t mean just the photos. Before having Eve, I would tell those who asked that I didn’t want children, I’d make a horrid mother, and any child born of my womb would be the saddest little thing in the world because I’m an impatient, quick-to-anger not very nice, rather selfish person. I’m not certain at which specific moment it happened but when I had Eve, I couldn’t imagine my life without her. She was, and still is today, my best friend. Yes, there are moments when I would oh so happily throttle her but in that same breath, I would oh so very happily step in front of a train for her and/or annihilate anyone who hurts her ๐Ÿ™‚ I suppose I could say I’ve changed quite a bit, huh? Eve turns 17 this month and I really don’t know I’ll cope when she leaves for university. I truly don’t. I also don’t know how time has gone by at warp speed, and I really envy you that Kingston is 4 years old, still a little while away before the gates of higher learning beckon. He is equally blessed to have a mother who loves him so much, and puts him as priority above all else, always xoxo
