Pregnancy Fashion Tips

When it comes to dressing during pregnancy, comfort and style are key. But what feels right in week 32 may feel downright wrong by week 39. And what perfectly flatters your curves now may become rather indecent by the tail end of your pregnancy.

I’ve gotten so many emails and messages from mom-to-be’s on how I stay so stylish during pregnancy that I decided to spill the beans on my blog because let’s face it: Just because your body is changing doesn’t mean you need to transform your wardrobe. If you want to remain stylish during pregnancy than I recommend picking out trends you not only like but are easily adaptable to your new body. For instance, I’m well aware that my bump is getting by the minute hence I opt for clothing that roomy are enough for my ever growing bump. At this phase of my pregnancy I typically buy one size up if I don’t want wear maternity. Below I’ve rounded up my maternity style tips:

  1. Opt for roomy and stretchy clothing, such as stretchy knits. They have fantastic dresses in stretchy knits that are comfortable and accentuate your bump nicely too!

2. Wear black! I totally swear on my stretchy faux leather leggings!

3. Comfortable, wide open shoes are your friend! While my feet didn’t get bigger during pregnancy I do prefer shoes that are wide open—makes me feel less confined.

As always, thanks much for reading & if you have any additional tips please, leave them in the comments below!

XOXO

Buying one size up is a great tip and being comfortable and stylish, is possible, as we can all see through your beautiful pictures and style, dear V.! I loved your dress and you jacket, plus the sandals – you look super feminine and very chic! I suppose it’s a bit difficult to have a balance between fashion and comfort, but you made it possible! You are very beautiful and an inspiration to all the moms-to-be! Hope you have a very beautiful day, dear V., and that you go on being this stylish and stunning! Hugs and kisses!

All I know is that when I’m pregnant I’m going to look as stylish as you haha! Working red lace and leather jacket + hat like any other fashionista when you’re soon due, that’s admirable! So fierce love! Xx

Vanessa, your tips are so on point because it’s what I’ve been noticing with my changing body and growing bump, too. What was once flattering for my figure pre-pregnancy is no longer, for the most part, flattering with the changes I’m experiencing and it’s all about finding out what works, all of which is what you’ve mentioned. I love pieces that stretch, keeping me both comfy, while look chic, such as basic turtlenecks, tees, and dresses, they’ve been on heavy rotation for me these past couple of weeks. Thanks so much for sharing your awesome tips with us, beautiful, and I hope you’re having the best week so far!

Women have come so far when it comes to dressing the bump these days. You can easily still wear the same – or similar – styles that you would always wear as long as you make some adjustment to accommodate your new shape. Your style is always inspiring and even more so now!

You have had the best pregnancy style, Vanessa! I’ve never been pregnant before so of course I can’t offer tips from my own personal experience, but back when I did personal styling I worked with a pregnant client. We picked out a lot of wrap dresses, coats, and empire-waisted maxis. And flats were a must! <3

Sending love your way, my gorgeous friend!
