How to Wear Braids this Summer

How to Wear Braids this Summer

From braided crowns and fishtails, to effortless french braids, one thing is certain: 2017 is the year of the braid! Well, make that braids, as in plural. With temperatures in the high 80’s this Summer I like to keep my hair out of my face, and braids are the perfect solution—they are as chic as they are functional.

Over the weekend, I headed to Hair Cuttery to get the perfect summer hairstyle that requires no to little heat. If you don’t know about Hair Cuttery, it’s the largest family-owned and operated chain of hair salons in the country. They have about 900 locations on the East Coast, New England and the Midwest. They offer cuts, styling, coloring, waxing and texturizing service and you don’t even have to make an appointment. Every time I want to get my hair done for a special occasion, such as Independence Day—Hair Cuttery is my go-to salon! Kacie, my stylist, always does an amazing job! She’s extremely talented and knowledgeable.

How to achieve this braid

Kacie, my stylist, started with the braid in the middle. She then took sections from the side of my hair and created fishtail braids. These fishtail braids would then be braided in with the middle braid.

To finish off this look, Kacie straightened my hair and added a few curls around my face. From on-trend fishtail braids, which are perfect for festival season, to intricate plaited up-dos, there are plenty of different looks for different hair types your stylists at Hair Cuttery can do for you!

My 4th of July Summer Look

Independence Day is my favorite holiday, it’s our special day to remember that “we are the land of the free, and the home of the brave.” My family and I paid tribute to our brave American Heroes, as well as spending the day with our closest friends. We had a fabulous picnic and watched the fireworks together, and I couldn’t help but feel immensely proud. Proud to be an American.

As always, thanks so much for stopping by! I hope your day is as beautiful as you are today!

XOXO

Your hair looks seriously amazing in these braids! I love the combo of the fishtails and regular braid! Now, if only I could do this to my own hair!

Man, I love braided hair, I need someone to do this for me! I am the worst at braiding, and could not fishtail braid ever.
