When I started What Would V Wear®, I knew I wanted to share my travels with you even though my blog is mainly fashion oriented. To me, there’s nothing better but to have an open mind, absorb new ideas, meet new people to stretch your thoughts. Life is meant to be experienced and discovered. And on this note, coming back home is essential to this traveling experience.

Words cannot describe how beautiful it is to return home. Some of you might know (but for those who don’t): I was born and raised in Germany. We arrived on Friday morning and this is officially our first week packed with lots of exciting sightseeing and travels around Europe. We feel extremely energized and ready to tackle everything. So, stay tuned for lots of fun content within the next couple of weeks! But let’s get back to my topic of ‘returning home‘. Part of me will always consider myself as a German girl. Coming home is hence very emotional. I’ve lived in the States for almost 13 years. As you can imagine, I don’t really get reminded of certain childhood memories but walking down the streets in my hometown is like walking down memory lane. This being said, being back home and stepping back into my childhood memories is really comforting & a wonderful renewing experience. Something treasure immensely.

I know what you mean. I feel the same way whenever I go to see my parents who still live in our family home. It is an emotional experience. I’ve never been to Germany but hope to go there one day.

The words you write and speak are so incredibly true, and I agree with every one of them – especially the first paragraph! Traveling is one of my favorite things in the world! I love hopping on a plane and landing in a brand to country or continent, or even one I’ve already been to, ready to discover the place at it’s finest and become immersed in the culture. Being a lover of languages too, I’ve always wanted to have a bunch of languages comfortably up my back so when I travel somewhere I can really feel like I’m there and not home because I’m speaking the language. So far I have English, Italian, French and almost Polish under my belt. German is next on my list! Any tips on learning the language for beginners? But yes, coming home can be the best part of the trip and even if you don’t realize it first because you miss the travels you’ve just experienced, once you get back into the whole swing of things you’ll realize how good it feels to be back home 🙂 Have a lovely week dear!
