New Beginnings

New-Year-2019-Vanessa-Lambert-WhatWouldVWear

When I first started this blog, I was at an entirely different point of life. Little did I know back in April of 2014 that my creative space would turn into my full-time career. The last couple of years have been a whirlwind and I cannot believe that I’ve been blogging for almost 5 years! April 7th of this year will be my 5th Anniversary—holy cow!

SHOP THE POST

And even though I haven’t had a lot of time for blogging lately (hence the lack of new posts in this space) I now have a renewed passion for my blog. Instagram takes a great chunk of my day but this year I want to concentrate on my blog a bit more again. This little space of mine online “I” own, it’s my way to communicate with you all on a personal level. I want to share more personal experiences with you, as well as be a source of positivity, encouragement and inspiration. Being an influencer means that you are part of a very over-saturated market. There are tons and tons of other influencers, there are beautiful curated feeds everywhere…But I couldn’t help but wonder.

What makes you follow me?!

What is it about them and even about me that makes you want to come back for more?! For me, following someone on Instagram or their blog means that I am in awe of their photography (something I want to get better at it this year!). I want to feel something (evoke an emotion) when I see an image, be inspired by its composition and its story telling. The other night I talked to my husband about it on how badly I want to achieve just that this year. I want my images to be more compelling, so stay tuned.

Be who you are

But that’s not it. I want to get the feeling that the person behind the beautiful curated feed has a beautiful heart also. I’ve met a couple of influencers that I loved following on Instagram but was very disappointed/shocked when I met them in real life. They were nothing like what their feed portrayed unfortunately. To me, that’s a scary thing. We all know that social media can be deceiving but c’mon. Be who YOU are.

How about you?! What makes you follow someone on Instagram and if you are a fellow blogger what are you goals for this year? Let me know in the comments below.

As always, thanks so much for stopping & Happy New Year! I am SO grateful for your support and love.

I find that in my life, I have very different passions then a lot of my friends, and feel a lot stronger about it then they do. Reading other people’s blogs is a way for me to feel like I am having a conversation with people who have similar passions with me, and with each photo I look at and line I read, I feel more and more inspired to create content that others feel the same way that you, and other influencers have made me feel. Your way to evoke images through words and to have what you post find a way to connect to each of us personally is so powerful. Keep up the good work and Happy 2019 to you and your family xx

I need to spend more time with Instagram. I tend to put more time into my blog and then share it on FB, Twitter, IG and Pinterest and I’m just not sure what the best mix is. Five years….good for you! I’m close to completing my first year and I’ve survived but not really prospered as much as I think I should have. This year will be one in which I have to figure out how to make it successful. It’s very encouraging to read your post! May 2019 be your best year so far!

My goal for this year is to be a vegeterian, I eat a lot of vegetarian food already. Another goal I have for thid year is being a better person, care more about the people around me. Always be the best person I can be, I don’t want to have negative cells in my body. Not even one. So that’s my goal for this year โค

Congratulations on blogging for 5 years. That’s a wonderful accomplishment.

I’ve been blogging just a little over a year, but my goals for my blog would be to keep learning and trying new things. I do love that it lets me connect with incredible interesting people.
