Why Saving Money Is Important

Today’s blog post is not fashion related but I’m hoping that you’ll find it just as helpful. I want to talk about the importance of saving money. Having worked for a financial company for 6+ years before I turned into entrepreneurship I consider myself quite well versed when it comes to financials. Plus the pandemic has taught me a thing or two about money which cannot be understated.

First and foremost, let me start by saying this: Saving money is important because it helps protect you in the event of a financial emergency. The pandemic is a prime example of an emergency situation. I remember when Illinois went into lock down. Everything was uncertain. And I mean, everything. Hence no matter how hard you try, you simply cannot predict the future. Neither can I. And for that reason, saving up a safety net is a really good idea and came pretty handy during the lock down.

Why Saving Is Important

Think about it — without savings, how will you weather any financial storms? I’ve been blogging for almost 7 years which means I had to live with a lot of uncertainly (especially in my earlier years!) on when my next paycheck comes in. But I soon learned that saving money is important, because it provided me with financial security.

Influencer-MarketingPeople may think that influencers typically spend all their money on clothes and accessories but I’d like to prove to you that this isn’t always the case. In fact, I am tired of hearing the term “influencer” as if were just online personalities because many of us actually run very successful (digital) businesses. Hence knowing and managing money is of utmost importance. Additionally, many people think that you have to make a choice between saving money and having fun (aka “Instagram worthy” travels, etc.), but this is a poisonous mentality. In fact, fun is a critical part of personal finance, and it is essential for you financial and physical well-being.

Budgeting Tools Available Online

I’ve been using various budgeting tools online to help me with budgeting and saving. For example, I recently discovered pigly.com which offers a wide range of tools from saving, budgeting, retirement planning, mortgages, auto loans, personal loans, and so on. I can only encourage you to check it and to start saving today! Any amount can truly make a difference. It’s better than not saving at all. You owe it to yourself to prioritize saving!

Saving money is so important and I’m glad I do. Found out a couple weeks ago, I need a new car. The money I was saving was for when I moved but my car dying on me in the near future is more important at the moment.

Yes to everything in this post, friend! Saving money is so important. It has helped my hubby and I create a nest egg, especially for emergencies or something that we could have never imagined like this pandemic. We have chosen to forego a lot of vacations or expensive getaways so that we could keep that nest egg in tact, and I will forever grateful for that. It’s worth the sacrifice to get have some money saved up and now we can do more things we enjoy without running ourselves short.
