I picked up these destroyed denim back in New York City when I visited Fashion Week two years ago. After the show(s) my girlfriends and I decided to go to SOHO for some shopping, and boy (!) did we go crazy! No sales tax got us especially giddy (we are used to paying 9% in Chicago sales tax!). Back then I was on the search for the perfect pair of destroyed denim, and got really lucky when we entered a tiny boutique just outside of SOHO. It really is the perfect staple for spring (I know it is still winter but HEY (!) – we had 43 degrees the last couple of days!) worn with a fun tee or chic top (in my case it’s a peplum top). My favorite way to wear distressed jeans is to combine it with edgy ankle booties, though. It’s ideal for when you want to look cool but not like you’re trying too hard. I added a funky statement necklace and fun vest as well (from NYC also) for even more edge because…Can you ever have enough edge?!

Happy Monday, dolls! Glad you stopped by! Today I’m wearing a blanket scarf which I have just received from OASAP, and yes, I’m aware that we have seen this trend on so many bloggers – yet I cannot help BUT spread the love on blanket scarfs myself! Sorry! It’s my favorite go-to item for cold, i.e. freezing Chicago days! I like to wear mine more like a traditional scarf rather than wrapping it around my neck. It provides more warmth this way + gives me an extra layer (which is definitely needed in Chicago).

And before I forget:

I just received my second Rocksbox set (yay!) and I’m completely smitten! They definitely nailed it this time! I love my Margaret Elizabeth Diamond Bangle in Chrysoprase + Loren Hope Crystal Necklace!

Happy Monday, dolls! Today I am wearing a perfect example of what I would call a ‘statement coat’. I got this coat from OASAP and I am head over heels in love with it! It is absolutely brilliant because, frankly, I could be wearing my PJ’s underneath it and STILL look pulled-together.

Sick of your day-to-day outfits? If so, let me tell you: You don’t need a whole new wardrobe! Most outfits can be transformed with the help of just a few key accessories. I personally swear on statement jewelry pieces that add a perfect finishing touch to my whole ensemble.

When Rocksbox – a monthly jewelry subscription box contacted me, and offered me a complimentary subscription, well, I was ecstatic! It certainly is no secret that I love good statement jewelry. I feel it can add that special touch to your outfits, or provide that often much needed extra color to your face. As I love to wear simple minimalistic outfits, it’s often the jewelry that gives it something special.

I will be wearing these pieces over the next few days so be sure to see how I styled them. At the end of next week I will be sending my box back to receive a new box again.
