My family and I spent New Years Eve at Wilmot Mountain at their Kid’s New Years Eve Bash at Walt’s Tavern, as well as for some skiing lessons. No matter your skill level, a lesson at Wilmot’s legendary ski school is the perfect way to start the New Year!
Wilmot Mountain is just a short distance away from Chicago and known for being the destination for winter fun! It was our first time at Wilmot Mountain and it did not disappoint! My entire family had so much fun, in fact, we decided that skiing would be our winter sport from now on! My oldest son Kingston was especially smitten! Him and I decided to ski together for hours after our lessons (my husband took my youngest to Walt’s Tavern for hot coco).
ABOUT WILMOT MOUNTAIN
Located in Kenosha County, Wisc., Wilmot Mountain is conveniently located halfway between Chicago and Milwaukee and debuted more than $13 million in capital improvements during the 2016-2017 ski season providing a completely transformed experience. With nearly 120 skiable acres, 23 trails, seven lifts, two surface conveyor lifts and progression terrain parks with a double, high-speed rope tow, there is enough terrain to challenge beginners to experts, day or night. For those who are not up for skiing or snowboarding, there is plenty of fun waiting just down the road at the tubing area with 22 lanes and two surface conveyor lifts to take guests back to the top.

From their Ski Hill Grill (large, self-seating dining area with a quick-service food court designed for a fast and convenient dining experience) to Walt’s Tavern (elevated tavern cuisine while overlooking the mountain) and Tubing Lodge (concessions style dining experience)—it has something for everyone!
