I’m thrilled to be teaming up with Hair Cuttery today! If you don’t know about Hair Cuttery, it’s the largest family-owned and operated chain of hair salons in the country. They have about 900 locations on the East Coast, New England and the Midwest. They offer cuts, styling, coloring, waxing and texturizing service and you don’t even have to make an appointment. 

When I walked in, I was greeted by Kacie, the lead stylist at the Gurnee location, who sat me down, and asked me what I wanted. I told her that I wanted a fun fishtail braid in which she replied that she absolutely loved doing braids — clearly, we were the perfect match!

#MyHCLook fishtail braid came out better than I expected, I’m typically very picky when it comes to my hair but Kacie made me feel very relaxed — besides the fact that she did an amazing job with my hair! With a little spring inspiration and an idea in mind, Kacie was able to make my hair dreams come to life. You can find your own inspiration here, and even upload your own look!

    Find me one in the Netherlands Vanessa! This is beautiful! And it is so easy to maintain, because whene its done good ,you can leave it all day right? My hair is finally long enough I hope, next month I have an appointment with my hairdresser. I know she can do this so perhaps I can have that too! Have a great week!

    Dear V., you look incredibly beautiful in every picture! Well, you are! I love fishtail braids, I mean, I love braids in general, and can you believe I never had a fishtail one? I am trying a “fake” one soon, to see if I can manage it alone 🙂 I was even going to have it yesterday, but it takes some good minutes and I was in a hurry!     I love the way the braid came out, Vanessa, it’s so pretty! I, too, love braids, but I’m not gifted in the hair department, so trying to do them myself either takes FOREVER or it just doesn’t work out at all. I’ll have to see if there’s a salon by where I live because I’ll be attending a wedding next month and wanted a braided crown, but it will definitely not be done by me, haha!     I just came across your blog and I am in love with your style and writing! This braided hairstyle is really beautiful; I am obsessed with braids since I was a teen, but I was never handy enough to do it myself, lol.
