My Carrie Bradshaw Moment

This is my Carrie moment. Sarah Jessica Parker has never shied away from taking a fashion risk. I mean let’s face it: We all wanted to either be or have a Carrie Bradshaw moment! And over the weekend I had one. I put on a tulle skirt that might have been plucked out of the wardrobe of her former on-screen alter ego, Carrie Bradshaw. Carrie changed the game of fashion. Think about it, she made tutus work in Times Square so, I decided why not make tulle skirts work in the winter?!

“Sometimes we need to stop analyzing the past, stop planning the future, stop figuring out precisely how we feel, stop deciding exactly what we want, and just see what happens.” – Carrie Bradsaw

And while I was all excited to shoot this look my husband was not. Poor guy. He dislikes the cold more than I do. He’s a Cali boy and these below zero temperatures drive my man insane. Well, me too, to be frank. These pictures may not show it entirely but let me tell you: It was cold. Very cold. It was a quick out of the car, shoot, and then go back in the car and GO. Luckily, I our photo shoots don’t take long at all—I kid you know when I say that they don’t last longer than 10min. It’s all about the editing, really. I finally managed to create my own filter on Lightroom (to create a cohesive feed on Instagram). If you haven’t noticed, all of my images have a warm tone to them now.

But enough about me. Tell me, do you like the ” new way” I edit my images (check out my Instagram @WhatWouldVWear) and what do you think of this look? Let me know by commenting below and as always, thanks so much for stopping by!

Love you all to the moon and back!

I loved your Carrie Bradshaw moment, dear V.! The skirt is really so feminine and I looove your boots! You look always very chic, very beautiful! I liked the quote, just letting things happen sometimes – I analyzed a bit this week, because it’s still the first week of the year, but the rest… I let things happen kind of 90% of the time 🙂 I also take around 10 min to photograph – so I loved to know you took 10 min for these amazing pictures – but poor you and your husband, you managed very well to disguise the cold, I thought “wow, the weather got better” – and I was wrong! I hope that the weather does get better soon 🙂 Kisses, dear friend!

I’m really into this photoshoot Vanessa, the way the colours of your outfit complit the buildings/backdrop etc and yes, I’ve noticed the change of filter in your photography and me likey! I love photography but if I’m being honest, at the moment I’m just not down in learning the tricks of the trade in becoming a better one. Back to you- this is a fab Carrie B moment, you did her proud and you are so lucky to have a hubby who supports you…in the freezing cold, ha! Xx

Omg taking photos during the Winter is the worst! Ours don’t take as long either but in the winter 10 minutes feels like an hour haha!! I love your new editing. I really like the mood it creates! And we also watched the Bills games! We were so excited they made it to the playoffs and my hubs was also extremely disappointed about the game. Hopefully this gives the Bills hope for next year!

I do love your filter! It’s been so cold here with wind chills in the negatives that I literally could not shoot outside! Last week I actually went over to my photographers house and shot there! Hopefully they will do until it gets warmer. Thursday is suppose to be 50 so I just ordered a bunch of clothes and I’m hoping to shoot with my sister. It might just be in our neighbourhood but I don’t care!

You look fabulous Vanessa! And you are rocking that skirt like no ones business and I love it! Winter shoots are seriously the worst this year. I mean who wants to stand outside in -30, so not fun, so I can totally relate! But you nailed and look gorgeous as usual!
    Have a great week!
