Patisserie Coralie, my happy place.

My husband had a special surprise for me two days ago. He found this adorable Parisienne café in Evanston, a suburban city north of downtown Chicago. He knows how much I miss Paris, and its sweet little cafés that aren’t like any other. I love cafés that have character, cafés that aren’t like your average Starbucks. Now don’t get me wrong, anyone who knows me knows how much I love Starbucks coffee, especially on-the-go! But when it comes to actual cafés I’d definitely prefer a nice sit down place that has charm and character, or perhaps a place that reminds me of Europe, to be frank. I miss it. A lot.

Finding Patisserie Coralie was a wonderful surprise from my husband. We all enjoyed macaroons with our coffees while my son sipped on his hot chocolate. We sat there for a while, and I even got to work for a little bit when my son decided to take my husband outside to pick up some monster trucks from a nearby store.

It was the perfect afternoon. There’s nothing I enjoy more than being with loved ones in a café that reminds me very much of home. On a different note: Many of you have asked me about my laptop cover on Instagram. It’s from CaseApp, a company that helps you create your own custom cases, either for your phones and/or laptops. My cover consists of a simplistic marble top cover, and I love it! It’s sleek and chic.

And before I forget…

You may have noticed but What Would V Wear has moved from .net to .com! My website can officially be accessed from instead of .net. It’s a minor change but I’m excited to have .com back!

As always, thanks much for visiting and have a fabulous weekend!

Much love.

I don t like Starbucks at all. I mean, what are we talking about! Its trendy to walk with a papercup filled with coffee? Come on! I like the little more personal café s better either!

Hi V… That gorgeous case was the first thing I noticed when I clicked on your link. I cannot wait to head over to the site and see what they can do for my laptop. I’m glad you found a little slice of Paris to enjoy. My heart belongs to Italy so I have found a little restaurant called Meelos that gives me the real deal experience as well. Thanks for sharing

This sounds like such a lovely cafe to sit and really enjoy a cup of coffee, treats and just observe. I love to people watch and take in my surroundings and as much as I love Starbucks, it really isn’t anything to be compared to a cafe like the one you’ve shared. There’s something special about a little spot that not too many people are in at once, it’s more peaceful and more intimate. That was so romantic of your hubby to surprise you with this place, knowing that you were missing Paris. As my mom would say, “you’ve left your heart in Paris.” She tells me everyday how she’s left her heart in Israel, but she lives in little Israel (Midwood, Brooklyn) so she get’s her fix everyday, haha! Anyway, thanks so much for sharing, beauty, and I hope you have a wonderful weekend, dear friend!
