Smell The Roses

DSC_0728-3-2

We live in such frantic times, moving from one thing to the next without really concentrating on anything in particular. Our minds become restless – yet we have so many opportunities to be generous and inspire each other. Today’s post is all about “smelling the roses”, and how the birth of my son, Kingston taught me to appreciate just how precious life is. When Kingston was born everything had changed. As a new parent, you learn that the cliché everyone tells you is actually true: It goes so fast. My son will turn 4 this year and I cannot help but be astounded by this simple fact. I get teary eyed just thinking about it because I don’t want this experience of raising Kingston to race by. I want it to drag on, deliberately, definitively, and perhaps forever.

I want to enjoy being a mother. Being a mother is the BEST life has to offer. It has taught me to live my life with compassion; to be kind to myself so I can be kind to others.

So, let’s make today count! Let us stop, and “smell the roses” together, as they say, because right now is the only time we will ever have. Let’s make the most of it.

Have a great weekend.

Much love!

This was such a beautiful post. I’m not a mom yet, but I can definitely relate to cherishing the moment as it occurs. February is already over and I hardly remember anything I’ve done other than work. Definitely have to take the time to smell the roses a bit more.

Beautiful post V, just as beatiful as you are both, inside and outside. Living in the moment is something I embrace now and even though both of my daughters are older (19 and 16) I still cherish every moment I spend with them. The oldest is away in college and I miss not seeing her everyday but as you know there is that time when we just have to let them fly away so they can reach the stars. My youngest, Andrea, she is a living miracle. She was born with a very rare conditon that has no cure . She is a very special human being that God sent me to change my life completely. She has inspires me to live life to the fullest, stay present and always do what I love. She is the reason why I started my blog. God bless your son V and your entire family, today and always. And thanks for sharing such an inspiring post. Have a great weekend! Jeannette

Hi girl! This is such a touching and precious post! And the photos are absolutely beautiful and artistic. How did you change the colors of the exposure? I want to experience having a child someday too. However, I will not be able to have a child without IVF. I am so scared about my upcoming appts this summer! But, I do know, that everyone I know that has had children say it is definitely worth all of the tears and the pain. You are truly blessed! xo Lauren http://www.ginnysclosetblog.com
