If you’re anything like me, then you’re likely ready to say goodbye to winter and hello to spring. Over the weekend my friend Anna and I met with Lauren, a talented makeup artist who spilled the beans on “top makeup trends for spring 2020″ while doing our makeup. Our focus was on clean, ethereal beauty punctuated by just a single pop of color or unusual element.
Spring/ Summer 2020 Makeup Trends
For the spring/ summer 2020 makeup trends, our focus was on clean, ethereal beauty punctuated by just a single pop of color or unusual element with a strong preference for glowy, bare skin. This meant everything from watercolor-esque eyeshadow, to bright pink and/or purple lips. While our overall vibe was gentle and whimsy, with the exception of the wild and artistic use of color, our focus really wasn’t on clean lines or sophisticated beauty techniques but more or less a way of expressing ourselves in mere creativity.
Add Glow to your makeup routine
So, this year forget about matte, the spring/ summer 2020 beauty trends are all about glowing skin, shining healthfully with a natural gleam. Our cheekbones and foreheads were highlighted softly, to give a more natural sheen. Makeup artist, Lauren only used a dose of highlighter to give a more pronounced glow that paired well with colorful lips and peachy cheeks.
Pretty in Pink
I’m a sucker for pink and I must admit that adding pink and hints of light purple into my makeup look was by far (!) one of my favorite moments. It’s very whimsical, isn’t it?

I’m a huge fan of the glow, but especially loving it (shimmer) in eyeshadow. Though I’ve been trying to stay away from glitter because it is so bad for our environment. And yet this is proving ridiculously difficult to avoid too!
