Paris Je t’aime

Paris, je t’aime… Words cannot describe how much I miss living in Europe. My family and I walked all day around Paris. The beauty of this city is truly everywhere. Every street, every boulevard, every corner has its own special moment and magic.

Near Notre Dame we discovered this beautiful side street. It has so much charm and hosts many fabulous restaurants close by. We truly live in a wonderful world that is full of beauty waiting to be discovered. All we need to to is open our eyes.

The history here is amazing, and and very charming actually. It’s funny how time after time nothing really changes, and yet everything is completely different. This trip (which really is a trip home) has got me thinking a lot. I never realized how much I actually missed living here. We will see what the future brings but one thing is for sure: Paris, je t’taime.

“If you are lucky enough to have lived in Paris as a young man, then wherever you go for the rest of your life, it stays with you, for Paris is a moveable feast.”

Ernest Hemingway is right: Paris is a moveable feast, a feast for your eyes. Returning to Europe has been nothing but pure joy except for my jet lag. We arrived early Sunday morning Paris time and I must admit: We were dead beat. My son and I slept on and off until 1PM the next day. However, after 1PM I said to myself: “Enough sleep. We need to go out and explore!” The fact, that most places are within walking distance, is such a plus! Hence my son, Kingston and I (my husband had to work) ventured out to Notre Dame. We passed the “Lovers Bridge”, and Kingston and I decided to leave a love locket with our initials behind as well. It was a very sweet moment.

I took these pictures myself today, and believe or not, but I really enjoyed being behind the lens for once. Capturing the beauty of Paris is almost impossible but I tried my hardest. Even though I’m European and I grew up with all this history around me I am still mesmerized every time I’m surrounded by historical architecture, such as Notre Dame. My son was quite smitten as well. He asked a lot of questions which I was very happy to answer.

This being said: Travel, travel! There’s nothing more beautiful but to smell foreign air.

As always, thanks much for visiting & have a wonderful day!

Much love from Paris!
