The Meaning of Love

I’ve never shared family pictures on the blog before hence I’m extremely excited to share this very personal post with you all today…Before Christmas we wanted to capture us three together and celebrate our soon new addition to the family—Baby J.

“Joy is what happens to us when we allow ourselves to recognize how good things really are”.

– M. Williamson

My family is by far my greatest accomplishment. I couldn’t be more blessed of the family my husband and I created together. Whenever things get tough or stressful I often remind myself that nothing can really happen to us as long as we have each other. Of course, we have our ups and downs just like any other couples—but at the end of the day it’s all love. Unconditional love. My husband and I been married for 10 years and ’til this day we have remained as close as ever. With marriages falling apart left and right—I cannot help but be so proud that we’ve built a strong and solid foundation together.

Love is the greatest gift God ever gave man, and I will never take it for granted. I choose to be at my best when my husband is not at his best, and vice versa. Marriage is not easy, in fact, it’s hard work but the reward is infinite when you look past the initial layers of romance and passion and recognize something even deeper. My husband is my best friend, who not only supports me in everything I do but also encourages me, and most importantly we’ve created the most wonderful boy together: Our son Kingston. He’s the light of both of our hearts, and we couldn’t be more excited to add another boy to our family & welcome Baby J this Spring!

As always, thanks so much for reading & have a lovely Tuesday!

PS: A big shout-out to my brother Kenneth who took these fabulous pictures of my family and I. I truly have the best brother in the world!

XOXO

Dear V., these photos are lovely! Well done, Kenneth, what for a sensitive brother behind the lens, this is great! I first thought Kingston looked like you, but now that you showed your husband’s pictures I think he looks like him, or well, a mix of both, which is normal 🙂 For me as well, some people say I look like my mother, some say I look like my father, but the majority says I look like both – with elements from both and they are right, I recognize this on my face. Kingston is precious and I was teary when I saw your pictures with him – always showing what motherhood is, pure love – OK, better to talk about the outfit, because I don’t want to cry now 🙂 But seriously, the most amazing pictures ever – you should frame some of them! You look fabulous, dear V., and the pictures show a wonderful loving family! Ups and downs are normal, to fix them with love is the answer. I am very glad and proud that we met through this channel, cause you are amazing and such a supportive friend! In a time when people are so competitive, you always say “let’s help each other” and this makes such a difference! I would like to thank you for all your friendship, kindness and support towards me and to wish you a fantastic new year, with a lot of fun, health, joy, happiness, luck and whatever you desire, for you and your family! Happy new year, hugs and kisses!

Vanessa, this is such a beautiful post! I love the photos of you and your beautiful family and I can relate to everything you’ve mentioned regarding marriage. Eddie and I have been together for 10 years (married for 8) and for sure there has been many ups and downs, but as you’ve said, it’s the love…UNCONDITIONAL love that triumphs. Thanks for sharing these photos and opening up with us on your views on marriage and love with us, I really couldn’t agree more. Sending lots of love and blessings to you and yours!

    PS: You look absolutely gorgeous!

And awwww, Kingston’s lil face, he better enjoy being the only lil’ man in the house while he can, haha!

Oh LOVE these photos and so glad you shared them. Congrats on 10 years! Yes many marriages to fall apart. I think b/c most people do not have a realistic approach to marriage. Most people do not have marriages, they have arrangements based on youth, health, attractive looks, money and sex. And it seems when on of these elements changes…the marriage fizzles. To me a true marriage is based on a true partnership and being friends with the person you marry and both partners having a realistic outlook and BOTH partners being able to compromise and respect one another. And sounds like you have just that!

Plus you all look great together : )
