People often ask me what the perks are of being a blogger, and while there are many to list, one always comes first: Meeting fellow bloggers from all over the world. I’ve had several opportunities to meet with fellow bloggers I admire in person (some of them leading to real friendships). Last weekend was one of these wonderful opportunities again. I met up, and worked with Bella, blogger behind xoxoBella.com. She is from Canada, and came to visit Chicago. And let me tell you: She’s a sweetheart. Bella is as bubbly and beautiful as her Instagram feed.
So, yes, the perks of being a blogger are meeting like-minded people who encourage and support one another. Being a blogger can be very competitive, so, it’s even more special when this isn’t the case and you actually support one another.

At the beginning of my blogging I was very fixated on numbers! Now I notice that I find it more and more important to ,,chat,, with other bloggers and to read their oppinion. Numbers aren t that important anymore, that gives blogging a real warm feeling! Great blouse you are wearing!

And, yes, meeting other supportive, genuine bloggers is definitely a huge perk of being a blogger. I started my blog seven years ago with a healthy living focus and have met quite a few bloggers over the years. One of them has become a close friend, and I’ve stayed in touch with quite a few even though they are not blogging anymore (and I changed the focus of my blog). Just the other day I got a comment and email from a former blogger. We started reading each others’ blogs back in 2009. It’s great to stay connected with people for years and through life changes.
