During these challenging and uncertain times, fashion is not on the minds of many; but, for those in the industry, and those who are able or must leave their homes, it is still a part of daily life. Even while practicing social distancing, and actually, especially during this time, it is imperative that we take the time to feel good about ourselves, to make the isolating times a little less dreary.
Fashion can help with this. When we make an effort to make ourselves look special, we feel special.
So, while stilettos and designer belts may seem a bit arbitrary in the current climate, there is one aspect of fashion that, while it may have fallen off magazines’ radar in recent years, can and perhaps should be made popular again: cue the fashion glove!
Practical, timely and timeless, the look calls back to a simpler and more elegant time, when Grace Kelly and Audrey Hepburn were the trendsetters whose look we admired and wanted to replicate. What better way to bring back a glamorous vintage style and help protect ourselves from the harmful unseen, than the glove?
Believe it or not, this look has been seen recently on several runways including Marc Jacobs, Rodarte, and Balmain, and worn by fashion icons like Lady Gaga and Zoe Kravitz at award shows. Whether you are headed to an event (under 10 people) or running errands (looking for TP to hoard) this look instantly pulls a look together, and helps keep the germs off your digits.
