The Trench Coat

It’s trench time, well it was in Germany, not so much in Chicago right now. Nonetheless, I’m a huge fan of the classic trench coat. I could’t get more excited when I spot the first rays of sunshine that announce spring because it means: Take off your winter and grab your trench! The trench coat is the perfect jacket for spring – a closet staple for warmer days ahead.

What I love about the trench is that it’s completely irrelevant what I’m wearing underneath. The trench in itself always looks classy and sophisticated. On a different note: We took these pictures in less than 3 minutes, and I’m not exaggerating. My brother, my son and my husband where on our way to visit a friend of mine in Gelsenkirchen, and as we were driving I noticed this graffiti wall, and I told my brother to stop immediately (typical blogger moment, huh?!). However, as my husband started taking pictures our battery died. So, yes, 3 minutes. Sometimes all you need is 3 minutes.

Have you ever experienced something like this? As always, I would love to hear from you!

Thank you for reading, and as always, much love.

Lol! But sometimes you get better pics when you dont have enough time or when youn think, well these are not going to be great and then they will! I love vtrenchcoats. One day I want to buy a Burberry!

You’re too funny! Definitely guilty of the the ‘OMG we have to stop, it will just take a minute!’ Love this classic look– and your trench! I hear we are supposed to get up to 60 degrees on Friday… bring on the trench weather!

The graffiti backdrop looks great, I once spotted a door with actual eyes drawn on it and got my husband to stop the car immediately for a photo!

I love seeing you always so chic, dear V., your trench coat is super! You always look stylish and gorgeous! I agree with the trench coat “philosophy”: whatever you have underneath, it doesn’t matter! Three minutes, wow, well done! Yes, batteries are annoying! But you did it so well, the pictures are amazing and you are right – the many (good) thing that can be done in 3 minutes! Hugs and kisses!

Welcome home Vanessa! You are so right. I never realized it before but a trench is such a subtle statement piece. I miss you! Look for an email… We’llhave to plan some time together soon.

I love trench coats, too, Vanessa! You’re so right, with the right cut and style, it’ll definitely be the star of the show and you need not to worry about what’s under. Haha, that was definitely a blogger moment, one I can surely relate to! I can’t even tell you how many times this has happened to us, not so much recently because I’ve been extra mindful; I’ve definitely frustrated my husband enough with us arriving at the location and the battery completely dead, opps! Nonetheless, the photos came out lovely and you look gorgeous as always! Thanks so much for sharing and I hope you’re having a wonderful day so far, dear friend; sending lots of love and a huge hug your way!

Wow! Such amazing pictures in only 3 minutes!! It’s the worse when the battery dies, or you forget the camera card like me! It has happened a few too many times, I thought my husband was going to scream!! Love the trench. Can’t wait for trench weather here!

Great, classic look! I love shoots that take 3 minutes (minus the camera dying part…). Sometimes the best pictures I get are when we’re on a time crunch and you have to just go for it with the time you have. Thanks for sharing!

I love your blogger moment, in my head your bro and husband were having a conversation and then you screamed, ‘STOP THE CAR NOOOOW’, then the car came to an almost comical screech top and you all got out to take the pics…wow, and in 3 mins and look how composed you look- you are a true pro! And yes, I love trenches, I want to start a lil’ collection actually, I’m on the look out for other variations to the classic beige like red, hmmm, anyhoo, have a fab wkend Beauty! Xx

  19. February 19, 2016 / 1:48 PM

HA! Your comment about it being irrelevant what you wear under the trench seriously made me laugh out loud…because it’s so true! It is an outfit in itself 🙂

  20. February 19, 2016 / 2:19 PM

Lovely and so chic! Great eye for finding that wall! Perfect background. The trench looks so elegant and edgy with the tee and leather pants. Always amazing Vanessa!

Oh yes, I can totally imagine how you told everyone to stop the car and take the pictures, and YES this is a typical blogger problem 😀 Jan always makes fun of me because of moments like that and even thought about writing a song to make fun of us (poor bloggers…) 😀 Nevertheless no ones sees that you didn’t have time to shot the photos, since you look flawless and gorgeous as usual 🙂 I love the combination with the trench and the booties, it’s so chic and fashionable and always perfect 🙂 You know how to combine EVERYTHING just in a perfect way 🙂 wishing you a wonderful weekend my dear friend <3

Hahha love your story! I’ve taken pics in 3 mins yes, but has my battery died? No, thank goodness it hasn’t happened to me. I always have a backup battery with me, but I’m sure it’s harder when you travel.

Love the trench coat on you, it is so fabulous!
