Why You Should Care About Sustainable Fashion

You are probably familiar with the saying “Live well, do good” and as of late I really thought about it more. As an influencer we are blessed with an amazing platform to reach people and most importantly do good. Today I want to talk about the importance of sustainable fashion, which is oftentimes seems to be a pretty tight-lipped conversation but not today. I’m honored to partner with Toad & Co, the creators of socially and environmentally committed garments that are equally suited for the rigors of the trail or the tavern. 90% of their products are eco-friendly and a portion of each sale supports people with developmental disabilities.

So, you might ask: What exactly are the benefits of wearing sustainable fashion? For one, it’s better for the earth. As a mother of two I cannot help but think about planet earth and how we treat it. I want our children to be able to live on this planet without a bad environmental footprint, think of pesticides, toxic dyes, pollution…you name it. It’s just plain bad for our environment. Now when it comes to buying clothes I firmly believe that  buying organic comes a long way! Renewable fibers is often the least toxic way to go, take my outfit for instance: I’m wearing the Toad&Co® Heartfelt Sweater Skirt and Sherpa Vest both available at Zappos.com. Both are eco-friendly, ,made with  i sustainable fibers and/or fabrics that have met earth-friendly bluesign® or STANDARD 100 by OEKO-TEX® certifications.

How about you?! Do you care about sustainable fashion as much as I do? Let me know by commenting below, and as always, thanks so much for stopping by!

Toad & Co seems to be very nice, dear V.! I loooved, really loooved your skirt and vest and your boots are also great! You look really fabulous, as usual! I am aware of sustainable fashion and I am really thinking of something more sustainable for the next year. People do consume a lot, and it’s not only in excess, it’s about what we need or not. And mother earth needs protection, yes! Hope you have a great week, hugs!
