My Beauty Must-Haves

Taking care of my skin and wearing make-up on special occasions (I don’t wear make-up every day!) has always played a big part of my life, and now that I’m pregnant with my second child I find myself playing “dress-up” even more—perhaps to make myself feel better since I had a draining first trimester. In today’s post I’m sharing my favorite beauty products and I’m giving you some advice on how to feel beautiful inside and out.

Over the weekend I received Rachel Zoe’s “Zoe Report Box of Style” which included some of my favorite beauty products, including It Cosmetics’ “Vitality Lip Blush Hydrating Gloss Stain“. It is my favorite lip gloss for fall! With the colder temperatures ahead of us I’m always looking for a gloss and/or lipstick that provides hydration so my lips won’t get too dry. The color isn’t bold either which is a great way to boost your natural beauty!

I’m a firm believer in “less is more” which is why I don’t wear a ton of make-up. I typically wear a light foundation, loose powder, blush and mascara on an almost “day to day basis” (again I don’t wear make-up every day!) but if I have a special occasion to go to I’ll add eye-shadow as well. If interested, you can shop my favorite beauty products below.

And as I’ve mentioned above: As of late, I’ve caught myself playing “dress-up” even more. I’ve had a rough 1st trimester, from nausea to extreme fatigue—most days weren’t glamorous at all. Frankly, I was a hot mess but now that I’m slowly feeling better I feel like treating myself. Hence a little make-up here and there makes me happy, as well as getting my hair done occasionally. I learned that you should do whatever makes you happy because a happy wife/mother means happy husband/children. 🙂

As always, thanks much for reading & have a wonderful Monday!

This month’s box of style looks amazing with so many great pieces. I’m obsessed with It Cosmetics’ bye bye under eye concealer, it works so well and doesn’t dry out your skin. I haven’t tried their Vitality Lip Blush Hydrating Gloss Stain but now I want to. There’s nothing like a little make up to help cheer yourself up and getting your hair done too. I’m so happy hear you’re feeling a bit better. Hope you have a great week!

Sweet V., that’s so nice that you are treating yourself after the rough 1st trimester, you are so right now! Extreme fatigue and nausea in the past – hopefully! – so enjoy the box (it seems to be very nice) and your favorite Vitality Blush lip gloss stain, it sounds great! I agree about being happy and then having a happy family! Hope you enjoy the new week with energy, no fatigue, and I send you hugs and kisses, dear V.!

That berry lip stain looks gorgeous on you!! I’m not a huge fan of makeup, which is why I usually keep my routine pretty minimal, but I do love to try new lipsticks every once in a while!

I don’t wear a ton of makeup on a daily basis either. Usually to work, just BB cream. Fun to hear your favorites. You always look so gorgeous!!

That lipgloss color is so pretty and looks great on you; I love IT Cosmetics, I use one of their brushes and concealers! I, too, don’t wear makeup everyday because well, I hate the whole process of applying it, even though I love the end result #lazy, haha. Also, I don’t like feeling as though there’s a lot of products on my face. I agree, as a wife/mother, when you’re happy, it definitely transcends to both the hubby and child(ren)! Thanks so so much for sharing, beautiful, and I hope you’re having a great start to your week so far!

IT Cosmetics is the best! I love everything I have tried from them, but have never used the lipgloss! I’m definitely going to need to check this out. It’s such a pretty color and I love that it’s hydrating! Thanks for sharing, Vanessa and have a great start to the week!

Hey Vanessa, hope you had a great Monday! I agree with the less is more make-up routine and it’s much more practical when you are a busy mama. The box service sounds so much fun and love that lip gloss. Really glad you are starting to feel better & it’s so important to take time and treat yourself. For many years I didn’t even wear any make-up but now I find it fun to get dolled up here and there too aside from my regular routine. You always look amazing my friend, love you xoxo

You look beautiful in that lip color, Vanessa. I’m so sorry you had a rough first trimester but happy to hear you’re starting to feel more like yourself. Doing little things to make yourself feel good is so important!

  28. October 4, 2016 / 11:57 PM

Hope that your pregnancy gets less draining Vanessa. It will all be worth it in the end though- what a blessing! I want to start wearing less makeup and your daily routine sounds so natural looking and pretty. This lip colour is perfect, such a sizzling pink shade.

    Take care beautiful!

    Rachel xx
