A few days ago I shared an Instagram story on where to buy authentic designer bags, as well as how to determine whether or not they are authentic. Purchasing designer bags online can sometimes be tricky but if you have educated yourself enough you can make sure that you won’t fall victim of purchasing a dupe aka fake designer handbag.

As most of you know, I love vintage CHANEL bags and shoes. I don’t have a full closet of them but I do own three CHANEL handbags and one pair of shoes I’m very proud of. All of my purchases were researched thoroughly until I actually hit the “buy now” button. I think it’s of utmost importance to educate yourself on vintage designer handbags before you buy them online since the risk can be high ending up buying a dupe aka fake handbag. There are many great online resources, though such as Spot Fake Handbags, The Purse Forum + Ebay provides great articles on “How to spot fake Chanel handbags”. Also, if you ever bought a vintage designer handbag online and you want to make sure it’s 100% authentic you can always get it authenticated online (since you won’t be able to go to the designer boutique and ask the sales person to authenticate it for you). My Poupette, for instance, offers authentication services which can ease your mind if you have any doubts about your purchase.
My favorite online sites to buy vintage designer handbags and shoes are: Portero, TheRealReal, Fashionphile and Ebay.

These are great tips. I think the purse forum is the main place to go when considering a vintage bag and wanting authentication from sources don’t have their own authenticators.
I like Vintage Heirloom’s website and heard great things, but have never bought from them. They have a smaller selection.

I liked your recommendations, and I have one to give as well 🙂 Vestiaire collective is also a great site to buy vintage pieces. A friend of mine got an amazing Chanel necklace for her daughter, and the site only accepts goods that it can prove are genuine. I loved your bag because it is colorful and I love colorful pieces 🙂 I have some Chanel pieces and they are timeless, for sure.
