Pregnancy Update: 14 Weeks

vanessa-lambert-blogger-behind-what-would-v-wear-shares-her-pregnancy-experiences_bump-update_14-weeks-pregnant

It’s Friday (!) which means I’m sharing another pregnancy update today! I’m officially 14 weeks pregnant and even though I can’t say that I’m feeling much better ever since I’ve entered my second trimester, I do, however, have hope. I had another doctor’s appointment yesterday, and everything looks great + we were able listen to our baby’s little heartbeat!

I still suffer from extreme fatigue (I take 1 to 2 naps a day!) but my doctor assured me that this was completely normal. I also continue to have low blood pressure—which can be pretty awful—because you get very light-headed every so often. My doctor advised me to increase my sodium intake to combat low blood pressure so, I will definitely give this a try. Did you ever have low pressure? If so, do you have any other remedies?

On a good note, though: My doctor’s appointment yesterday was great! Everything looks wonderful and we were able to listen to our baby’s heartbeat! Beating at 154bpm we were quite in awe! My son, Kingston was especially smitten! He really hopes for a baby brother because he wants, as he calls it, a best buddy. Mommy and daddy, however, are hoping for a girl but at the end of the day the sex really doesn’t matter. A healthy little baby is all that matters. Speaking of the gender…We do know the gender but we will confirm it with an ultrasound this weekend. So, I will share with you all very soon, I promise.

Until then much love, and have a wonderful weekend! See you back here on Monday!

XOXO

You look so beautiful, Vanessa! I’m sorry to hear you’re still not feeling great… hopefully you’ll begin to get more energy into your second trimester. Try and have some Gatorade or Powerade Zero instead of water to help with you sodium levels. I’m no doctor (nor have I been pregnant) but I have had my sodium go low and that causes extreme exhaustion for sure. The one thing I did was replace all water with Powerade and my sodium quickly returned to normal. Happy to hear you appointment went well! So excited for the big gender reveal!

That’s so sweet, dear V., that all is going in a great way and you could listen to your baby’s heartbeat! And you are right, the baby being healthy is what people wish, but please tell Kingston that he can have a very good friend if the baby is a girl. I have 2 brothers and we are veeeery good friends – and well, like any siblings, we also have our ‘moments” disagreeing, but that’s normal, having siblings or not 🙂 He will love having a brother or a sister, I am sure! And about the naps, just enjoy that, because it is what gives the body more power 🙂 Low blood pressure, I may have had 3 times in my life, but because of the way I nourish myself. So I hope you are totally OK soon and I am eager to know whether the baby is a boy or a girl 🙂 Hope you have a fantastic weekend, dear V.! Hugs and kisses!

Such a beautiful photo of you and I love reading your pregnancy updates!
I’m so glad that your appointment went well and that the baby is healthy! I can’t help you with low blood pressure as I had high blood pressure in my second pregnancy but as I was advised to reduce salt, increasing your sodium intake seems very logical!
    Have a lovely weekend
