First Trimester Update: How To Stay Energized

howbloggervanessalambertofwhatwouldvwearstayspositiveandenergizedduringherfirsttrimesterofpregnancy

Let’s be honest. I’ve been sick, tired, and thanks to my hormones, I’ve had all kinds of feelings. My first trimester, which ends in a couple of weeks, has been particularly hard on me which proves that every pregnancy is indeed, different.

So, today’s post is not about fashion, per se, since I decided to share my pregnancy journey with you as well! I promised to take you along on this exciting, and yet… tiring ride! So, here we go…Frankly, I’ve been going through a lot, and I was quite shocked that pregnancy could actually be this way…but let me explain why. My first pregnancy with Kingston was literally heaven. I had no pregnancy symptoms whatsoever, no nausea, no tiredness, etc. I was able to stay active up until I gave birth, and I felt energized throughout.

Fast forward, and yes, I am now the mother of a five year old and my energy levels might be low to begin with, the nausea, peeing, low blood pressure have been crazy during my second time of pregnancy.

However, despite these crazy things happening I keep remembering that I’m pregnant which truly is a blessing. Thinking about it helps me to stay focus and grounded. It might sound silly but the thought that “you are having a baby” is exciting and makes you almost forget all about your aches and pains.

Which brings me to the importance of “How to Stay Energized During Your First Trimester“.

To stay energized and positive during your First Trimester I promised to do the following: Eat frequently, and guzzle water. Take naps. Drink Orange Juice when energy level is low. Go for a run. I am an avid runner and it actually helps me beat tiredness.

Do you have any tips, and if you’re pregnant as well: Tell me how you are feeling! I would love to hear from you!

As always, thanks much for reading and have a wonderful weekend!

XOXO

Oh, how precious looking at that sonogram! I don’t know if I ever told you this, but I worked in obstetrics at New York Presbyterian, so it’s always special whenever I hear or see someone share their pregnancy; I have seen lots of bellies and sonograms, haha! I’m sure that once you enter your 2nd trimester these symptoms will subside, but I love the attitude you have through it all; it really is a blessing to be carrying a little one! I’m so excited for you and your family and that I’m somehow apart of it by seeing all you share! I hope you have a wonderful weekend ahead, beautiful!

    Congratulations! ๐Ÿ™‚

The first trimester has always been the hardest for me as my morning sickness was pretty nasty – all my pregnancies! This last one it was in the evening so it was easier to hide at work but it was also frustrating as I couldn’t eat much at night. I think taking care of yourself is important throughout pregnancy, but you have to be really kind and gentle to yourself so much in the first trimester. Hope you get that second trimester extra energy soon! ๐Ÿ™‚

Hope you’re having a great start to the weekend ๐Ÿ™‚

Dear V., I guess you are right, every pregnancy is different! With Kingston, you didn’t feel this way, but now you feel tired and I think you must be right – I recommend, though not because of pregnancy, always take a nap when you body asks and you can (clearly at work it’s difficult, that’s why I included for people who read it “if you can”). Naps are really great and recharge our bodies, especially now that you are pregnant. And water is always a must! I hope that the 2nd trimester gets better! And you are so right – a baby is a blessing! So nice to know about you, dear V., relax during the weekend! Hugs and kisses!

So sorry to hear that you been having a tough time during your first trimester. But your almost out of the woods. I totally missed the news of your pregnancy. Congratulations babe. Yes every pregnancy is different. I have four kids and all 3 pregnancies were different. The first were twins of course so that was hard and the last was the easiest. Sending you energizing vibes girl. Two more weeks and you’ll be in the clear. Running during pregnancy though, wow so awesome. By the way the sonogram is adorable.

Oh my goodness, I missed the announcement!!! CONGRATULATIONS! What exciting news for your family! Your tip about running is interesting, I never would have thought working out through the exhaustion of pregnancy would actually lift energy levels. Please keep the tips coming, I’m filing away and all tips and tricks I can before my husband and I start our family!

Aw so sorry to hear this pregnancy is tougher than the last! I’m sure it will fly and who knows, the symptoms could subside at any time! Glad you have a plan in place to keep your energy up and that you’re giving yourself a bit of a break since you ARE creating a human! ๐Ÿ™‚

My two pregnancies were also so very, very different. Well, plus I was 16 years older the second time around… ๐Ÿ˜‰ My first pregnancy was also very easy, and I had terrible, terrible all-day sickness with the second one. It did definitely get better after the first trimester however…

I hope you’ll feel A LOT better soon! I think your plan to take care of yourself sounds great!

oh vanessa, so sorry to hear that this one is rougher than the last one ๐Ÿ™ but I think it’s really a matter of age and five years are a lot for a pregnant body ๐Ÿ™ But always keep in mind what a blessing it is and I think this will give you the enegery you need ๐Ÿ™‚ I don’t have any tips because of the pregnacy, but I think the best is to eat helathy and do everthing to keep your energy ๐Ÿ™‚

  36. September 27, 2016 / 9:45 PM

Clearly I’ve missed out on so much.
First, Congratulations Vanessa. This is good news, Kingstone is going to have a brother/sister. I’m so happy for you.
I’ve only had one pregnancy so am not very experienced. My first trimester had me so exhausted, the only thing that kept me active was hunger and getting my appetite fed. However as time progressed drinking water and shopping really kept me energized.
But you’ll be fine love, the first trimester is usually the toughest for most. With time you’ll adapt to this pregnancy too.
I wish you the very best with the remaining months of your pregnancy.

    Much love and hugs, Linet.
