Today on What Would V Wear I am serving up some empowering working girl vibes by wearing an ultra-feminine pink pantsuit. I love a sleek, simple design that represents female empowerment because let’s face it: Who runs the world?! Girls.

Borrowed from the boys, Chanel created the first female suit in 1914. I’ve admired Coco Chanel for as a long as I can remember but her creation of the power suit will forever be favorite. At the time, the suit already represented female empowerment but Coco was the first that created a socially-acceptable women’s suit. Traditionally it was a radical and bold move but she managed to refine sensibility that empowered women en masse.

Feeling comfortable and confident

Fast forward to modern times and today, the power suit trend is stronger than ever. I couldn’t feel more comfortable and confident in this suit. It works from day to night, work to weekend brunch, and more. I invested in a matching blazer-and-trouser outfit which works well when heading to meetings, etc. I found this suit on Amazon and couldn’t love it more.

    Yes Chanel was a head of her time. I still don’t have a good suit but I sooooo want one! I can’t believe you found this one on Amazon, it looks so expensive and it fits you like a glove!

    I think the pink suit looks amazing on you! I had no idea that Coco Chanel was the first to create a socially-accepted female suit. That’s so interesting. She really did a lot for fashion.
