Life Lately

Life Lately

As we’re already half way through the year (while still battling the pandemic) I cannot help but wonder but when things are starting to get back to….what, normalcy perhaps? Work has been manic ever since the pandemic started, my kids are a delightful handful as we’re trying to go on a few social distancing adventures together to make their summer break worthwhile and last but not least I’m still trying to figure how to create meaningful content that doesn’t come across as “tone deaf”. I must admit that with our current world situation I simply lost most of my desire to post and/or promote products. My personal headspace isn’t even with fashion right now.

But I don’t want to be Debbie Downer now hence I want to talk a few things that made me happy these past few months.

Things I’ve Enjoyed This Summer

  1. I finally started kayaking this summer! I was able to buy one (I got lucky because because most retailers were sold out!). I already spent many beautiful days on the lake.
  2. I’ve been to the beach twice.
  3. I caught up on reading. So far I’ve finished 3 books.
  4. I started gardening.
  5. Deep cleaned the house.
  6. Got myself a new car.
  7. Started a new job in marketing (and I LOVE it!).
  8. Made lots of rock art with my boys.
  9. Deepened my friendships.
  10. I’ve been drinking 2L of water a day (my mom will be SO proud!).

What have you been up to this summer? I’d love to hear from you and thank you for your patience as I’m trying to figure out when I’ll be posting on a regular schedule again. I promise that we’ll be back to normal posting schedules soon.

What Would V Wear is definitely here to stay!

Hi I love that dress, so unusual with that design being a maxi with that neckline. My hubby would wince though at the thought of ironing all those pleats.

First of all, that dress, wow, you look so amazing, so beautiful! It definitely has been a very tough year, we have never seen anything like it. With so much unease in the world just now it is not uncommon to feel this way at all. I am glad to hear that you have found things that you are enjoying, I think that is fantastic, we need these things more than ever just now! Good luck with your new job lovely xx

Congratulations on your new job, Vanessa. I’ve been working on a new business, running more often and decluttering the house!
Unfortunately, still haven’t managed to drink 2l of water a day!
You look gorgeous in this dress!

What a beautiful dress! i’m glad you and your family are safe and well 🙂 I’ve been enjoying blogging through the pandemic – it was a little piece of normal in all the craziness!

Hope that you are having a great weekend 🙂 We had our first birthday party yesterday after the relaxed restrictions and it was so much fun!

I do love seeing posts with beautiful outfits and products as this resembles a bit of normality and brings happy vibes to life. Constant talking about pandemic mainly highlighting negatives can be quite daunting. There are so many incredible stories with families getting closer, couples rebuilding their relationships, many happy and rested people, and I just wish people could focus a bit more on positives too.
I love your dress, obsessed with pleats! Have a fabulous weekend xx
