Reasons The Beach Will Always Be My Happy Place

The beach is my happy place. ANY beach. I don’t care if it’s Lake Michigan or the ocean. It’s something about the smells and the sounds that soothe my soul.  And being in California just this past week reminded me how much I love being by the water. Some of my greatest childhood memories are of my family taking me and my brother to the beach.

I am one of those people who feels more alive and at peace near the water. I’ve lived in Illinois for more than 12 years and even though I hold Chicago dear and near to my heart I just don’t get the same feeling as when I am by the water. The serenity, the peace of mind…it just feels right. Almost like home. Last night I read a beautiful quote by Anne Morrow Lindbergh and it truly touched my heart.

My first memorie is by the water, my father took me on a boat ride to see the cruise ship my mom used to work at. We’ve done it so many times after, but I’ll never forget that time. I get so happy when I look at the pictures we took, haha little me and hundred meters away a super big cruise ship!

I don’t blame you for this being your happy place since we are living through below zero temps right now. Lol! This dress is stunning on you! I adore the nude color. So elegant and chic!

I love the beach as well. Growing up, we would go camping up north at Burt Lake. I have so many fond memories of that! And then I also love going to the Pinery on Lake Huron with all the sand dunes!

Oh Vanessa, these pictures are absolutely stunning!!

You look so gorgeous & I absolutely agree with you – I’m also born next to the Baltic Sea and since then, the beach always makes me happy. Whether its in winter with -5 degrees, taking a walk and having a hot chocolate or with 30 degrees and tanning in a Bikini 😉 Haha

    happy weekend ♥

I don’t blame you. I love the sea. I don’t get to go often living in the UK, but I saw the most sea in Greece last October. The memories of it make me want to go back. I’m so happy being by the sea 😍😍

I also feel great near water, although I love forests too. I have some wonderful memories of building sand castles with my parents and grandparents on the beach that I’ll always treasure.

Your photos are beautiful. I love the perspective.

These photos are beautiful, thank you for sharing them and a little bit about yourself as well!! I guess I always take the beach for granted since I’ve lived near them my whole life. Sometimes it takes outside perspective to realize how great something is 🥰

We lived in Philadelphia, and hour from the shore. …..Walking off the boardwalk onto the hot sand…seeing a row of stripes umbrellas…hearing nothing but seagulls and lapping waves. My kids had the most enjoyment though, playing for hours.
